In the kibbutzim and towns of the western Negev, a few kilometres from the Gaza Strip, the terrorists went from house to house. They shot and threw grenades into safe rooms, set homes on fire and abducted more than a hundred people. In Kfar Aza the entire Kutz family was killed in their home: the father Aviv, the mother Livnat and their children Rotem, Yonatan and Yiftach, aged 19, 17 and 15. Neighbours found them together in bed, held in their father's embrace. Be'eri, Kfar Aza, Nir Oz, Nahal Oz, Sderot and Ofakim are only some of the places attacked.
